Blog 2: the Bunbarian

You may be wondering why I didn’t post last week. I do not typically post on holidays.

Hello again from the drawing post! This week, I have a little critter from a magical land with sentient animals. I won’t specify which land; fantasy worlds with warring animals practically grow on trees. Bunbarians risk life and limb in fierce combat against their enemies. They typically utilize their famous speed against enemies much stronger than them, but slower than them, such as hogs, bears, and lions. Their tiny rabbit paws are not suited to grasp a weapon; instead, they use lightening quick strikes from their leather clad hands and feet. The helmet on their head is made for intimidation purposes as well as protection. Foes blanch when they recognize the steel horns and the rabbit crest appearing, then vanishing in an instant as the bunny darts through the sea of soldiers.

I started bunbarian as a common bunny infantryman, trained little and unfamiliar with war. I decided to turn him into a quick and reckless barbarian after finding no way to give him a weapon that worked with his paws. I really enjoyed diverging from glinting stainless steel chest plates, boots, and pauldrons to a more varied, armor set. Instead of heavy metal, chain mail covers his chest, held close with a large, studded leather belt. Strips of leather adorn the end limbs. This is no role playing game- style armor that is glorious, majestic, and hand tailored to the protagonists form. This is just a rabbit with minor protection supplied by the army who fights like a rabid raccoon.

Draw on,
