Last week, I was thinking up ideas for a creature. I decided to draw a pangolin, since they are such neat and wacky animals, and I could do some cool things with them. I looked on the internet to find a reference, and began making the outline in pencil. However, once I was done, I was very satisfied with part of my drawing, and did not want to edit it heavily or erase it. The head was fine, but I couldn’t make a great tail. I looked up a reference and drew a snapping turtle head where the tail should be. Maybe I chose a snapping turtle because I was listening to Hatchet by Gary Paulsen as I was working.* Anyways, now I have a Sunda Pangolin- Alligator Snapping Turtle abomination. Sweet.
*That book and its author are truly incredible. It makes you question your way of life when you dig into the series. Check it out.
