We already have snake people in modern Western Culture. Gorgons are just a step below trolls, mermaids, and goblins in pop culture. Nagas are half people, half snakes from Hindu mythology. There are likely countless other serpentine figures throughout cultures.
But why must they be so cool and natural? These creatures are often attractive women with a long green snake coil. We are smushing a mammal into a reptile, aren’t we? Why don’t we make something creepy instead?
And stupid?

Behold, Snogns. Here we have an emaciated, zombie- like thing trundling on, with no flesh on it. It shuffles and stutters awkwardly like something out of a horror film.
And it has a derpy snake head. Enough said.
Draw on,
