Blog 1: Meet Pmiko!

This is the first blog of the drawing post I’ve done on a website instead of a Gmail to a handful of people, so I don’t really know what to expect. Let’s see how this plays out.

The idea behind Pmiko is that it could look cute with minor adjustments to its figure and features, but it specifically does not. This may sound strange, but I owe some of the design choices of this creature to the bizzarre “ZOO-WEE-MAMA” comic in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series where there is a small cartoon dog with human hair. This partially showed up in making Pmiko looking not like a cute, perky gumdrop and instead adding bags under Pmiko’s eyes and a tired, droopy dumpling body. I imagined Pmiko in a 2D platformer puzzle game where danger is all around. Pmiko is always vulnerable, because she (he? Not sure yet.) is entirely defenseless at all times, with only her wits to keep her alive. She must use what is around her to keep from being eaten or otherwise harmed. Therefore, when outside her den, she is never relaxed, never confident, and never ever bored.

That’s it for this week. I would like to hear some feedback about this new system.

Keep Drawing,
